Dreams Of Summer

The solstice is behind us, which means the days will soon be getting longer and the nights will once again retreat to the dark hours of the morning. Unfortunately, winter’s reach here in southern California only intensifies in the months following December, meaning we’re in for more dreary, cloudy days and frigid nights ahead.

As we trudge through winter, many of us dream of the days ahead, where spring and summer shine bright like a beacon on an otherwise dark horizon. Gone are the days we Californians wish for ‘real weather’, here are the days we wish for a return to weeks on end of perfect sunny afternoons.

While we’re here wishing, we could be getting to work on projects that can enhance our outdoor environments and allow for us to better enjoy the long summer days. Landscaping projects can be lengthy endeavors, so all the better we take advantage of the cool cloudy days of winter to build a better yard for summer.

One major landscaping project we’ve been looking at recently is the installation of a backyard water feature installation. The sound of running water has always had a calming effect on me, so a little waterfall in my backyard has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember.

There are a multitude of different water features you can add to your yard, from the simplest fountain to a massive, multi-level koi pond. The only limiting factor is your imagination, your budget, and, of course, the help you hire on to implement your vision.

Good landscapers are hard to come by, as seems to be the case with most of the construction world. Luckily for our southern California readers, they don’t have to look far, as we are home to one of the best landscaping firms in the industry: Torrey Pines Landscaping.

Torrey Pines has won a ton of awards for their landscape designs in San Diego, most of which have transformed the landscape from tacky to extraordinary in the hills and beachfronts all over the city. Many of their projects have included the installation of water features both big and small, from spas to a yard-spanning river.

Whether you are looking for a water feature that you can swim around in or just enjoy the sound of a babbling brook in the midst of the arid hills of southern California, Torrey Pines can help you realize your vision of the perfect outdoor getaway for hot summer days. With a level of perfectionism and artfulness not commonly found in contracting companies today, you don’t want to miss out on getting help from a major up-and-coming force in the landscaping world.

While in winter’s icy grasp, its perfectly natural to think of brighter days in a not-so-distant future. If you’re looking to make those days shine even more starkly, give Torrey Pines Landscaping a call to make your landscape dreams a reality:

The Attorney You Can Trust

On our never-ending mission to find only the truth, Dover Street delves into the world of personal injury attorneys. This industry is full of firms that promise the world but can’t deliver on it. However, it seems we’ve found one that will in sunny San Diego.

Since it is impossible (or at least probably immoral) to go undercover and become accidentally injured, hire a lawyer, and fight for our rights, we went the next best route. We interviewed someone who was forced to go down that path. Spoiler alert: they’re doing great. This is how it went.

Susan sat in front of me, nursing a muffin she bought from the coffee shop. People buzzed around us. Speaking about these things in public places always offered a distraction when needed, and allowed them to open up.

“Are you okay to talk about it?” I asked.

“It’s strange how easy it is to talk about it,” Susan said. “After it happened, the thought of it would make me shudder.”

I nodded.

“Part of that is because of Villasenor, you know,” she added. “They made everything easier.”

Susan was in a horrific car accident. On the way home from a trip to the salon, Susan was minding her own business when someone ran a red light, crashing into her car. Her car was totaled, and she was still going to doctor’s appointments to make things right. This wasn’t something she could have planned for, and certainly not something she could afford.

Susan absentmindedly traced the silvery pink scar on the back of her arm. I took note that it was healing well.

“So, how did you choose a personal injury attorney in San Diego?” I asked, “It’s not exactly a small city.”

“I just went to Google and started searching. When I found their website,” she said, “It looked official, and they said they had over 25 years of experience. After their free consultation, I knew that was the route I wanted to go.”

“That’s great,” I said. “It sounds like you’re glad you made that choice.”

“I am,” she said. “During the consultation, he was very honest and sympathetic toward my situation. And then, he was always ready to communicate and made sure everything was complete. He even worked during the weekend at one point, to meet a last-minute deadline.”

The interview continued to go as expected: Villasenor was there for her at every turn. They knew what to expect, and managed to procure a maximum recovery on her behalf. Now, all she needs to worry about is getting better.

Digging a little deeper through the internet, we see that this same story is repeated on various review websites. People speak highly of Villasenor and their ability to offer the best services. The one time they received a negative review, a one-star on Yelp, they responded with an impressive amount of class, disagreeing and disproving why that person was upset with them. Seeing this response makes you want them on your side even more.

Villasenor can fulfill their promises and if you need a personal injury attorney, you can contact them here:
