Keeping The Fight Alive: The Benefits Of A Deep Tissue Massage

Lately, my usual deep dive sessions into the black holes of the internet have not been going quite as smoothly as they once did. While in my youth, I was able to put in twenty or more hours into reading up on the alumni of the Bohemian Grove, I’ve found that my body becomes prone to extreme pains if I spend even a few hours in front of a computer during the day.

Initially, I thought it was the work of something sinister, a-la the Havana laser that had been giving U.S. embassy staff such troubles during the mid-2010’s. I was talked off this ledge by my wife, who correctly diagnosed the issue as a result of my terrible posture hunching over a computer monitor all day (and most nights).

Being no fan of pharmaceuticals, my wife had been doing some research of her own and recommended that I start a stretching routine and go see a massage therapist to start working out the damage I’d done to myself. She had gotten some great results from an Irvine massage therapy provider while she was training for a triathalon, so she recommended I at least go check it out.

Suspicious as I am, I needed to do a little bit of my own snooping before taking the plunge and allowing another individual to see me in such a vulnerable position. My neck in agonizing pain, I managed to pull up their social media profiles before collapsing on the ground.

What I saw was enough to convince me to make an appointment however. A nearly perfect Google rating with hundreds of reviews is difficult to pull off, but they managed it! Here is a small sample of what I found (don’t worry, I vetted them):

Superb massage therapy. Went here on a whim and was blown away by their skill and friendly staff. The style is closer to what you’d find at a chiropractor: thorough, deep tissue massages that get you feeling better in the long run rather than surface level relaxation. My wife, who usually prefers gentler massages, went back for more, so they can definitely adapt to personal preference.

Started coming here for massages while I was pregnant. I’ve never had a bad experience here even with different therapists! Truly amazing, if only I lived closer I would come more often. The facility is relaxing, clean, modern, and extremely comfortable. Highly recommend this business and the therapists here.

So glad I found this place. For starters, the place is always sparkling clean and the staff is super nice. But the main reason I like coming here is because of my massage therapist, Michael. He’s the best in the game and I couldn’t be more impressed with him. I come in once a month for an 80 minute massage to help with my neck and back pain. I leave every session so much better than when I came in. Michael is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and his techniques are as good as it gets. I highly, highly recommend Massage Matters in general and especially Michael in particular.
